About The Position

Martella's Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy operations for a closed-door institutional pharmacy that provides pharmacy services to correctional facilities and nursing homes. This position will be responsible for processing healthcare providers prescription orders, mixing and compounding prescriptions, and giving healthcare provider consultations as needed.

Requirements

• Successfully completed the coursework and graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Licensed and in good standing with the state board of pharmacy as a registered pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania
• Must be comfortable with pharmacy-related software, in addition to any other software programs needed to manage a pharmacy efficiently
• Must be a leader in the pharmacy. Direct staff as necessary to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and process medication orders
• Provides information and advice to healthcare providers as needed
• Ensures safe medication use, monitors patient history, and stays updated on advancements in medicine
• Ensures pharmacy standards are met
• Ensures that safe working conditions are maintained
• Sets an example of personal integrity, appearance and ethical business practices which provides a standard of conduct for all department personnel
