About The Position

H-E-B operates over 250 pharmacies throughout Texas, employing over 800 Pharmacists while maintaining a 3:1 technician support ratio. Joining the H-E-B Pharmacy team is an opportunity to make a difference, help people live healthier lives, and provide a level of service that extends beyond filling prescriptions. As a Pharmacy Floater, you'll provide Store coverage within an H-E-B Region, fostering a caring, team environment to ensure we provide responsive healthcare and exceed patient expectations while delivering excellent, accurate, and efficient services. You'll support efforts to retain the integrity of pharmacy practice within our retail environment. As a Pharmacy Floater III, you'll serve as a highly qualified and accomplished Pharmacist, available for assignment as a Staff Pharmacist, Assistant Rx Manager, or Rx Manager in any Store location within the Region. Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Active license / in good standing with all regulatory agencies.
  • 2+ years of Pharmacist experience.
  • TSBP-registered Pharmacist; TSBP recertification at least 60 days prior to expiration date.
  • TSBP-certified immunizer.
  • TSBP Preceptor certification after one year of pharmacy practice.
  • Successful completion of all required training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pharmacist coverage at any Store location within assigned Region, based on Region-specific guidelines.
  • Works closely with Pharmacy Manager, other Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Care Representatives (PCRs) to ensure the pharmacy provides superior patient care and customer service.
  • Performs functions related to managing and operating a pharmacy in a retail environment.
  • Assists in managing production efficiency through use of labor schedules.
  • Works collaboratively with Top Store Leaders and Regional Director.
  • Assists with Partner training and Partner readiness / competency.
  • Implements / maintains workflow and quality control methods.
  • Ensures efficient operation of systems and applications (e.g., RxEVO, RxIMS, PartnerNet, ScriptPro, Kirby Lester, point of sale).
  • Oversees third-party prescription processing, adjudication review, and resolution of third-party issues.
  • Performs drug utilization reviews.
  • Ensures accurate inventory management and compliance with proper processes.
  • Assists with / responsible for bi-annual inventory of controlled substances and physical pharmacy inventory.
  • Performs 7-point check to approve processed prescriptions.
  • Ensures the department complies with all state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Provides patient counseling on all new prescription orders as required by Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
  • Ensures privacy / confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by HIPAA.
  • Ensures compliant processing of expired and recalled products.
  • Contacts prescribers regarding script questions or problems.
  • Participates in / supports H-E-B Pharmacy directives and professional services.
