About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders. Detects any therapeutic incompatibilities. (50%) Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging and labeling (5%) Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies, advises interventions when necessary. (5%) Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technician’s workflow. Verifies their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections. (15%) Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals. Counsel’s patients on drug therapies. (15%) Complies with federal and state drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration. (5%) Maintains records for controlled substances. Removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current Michigan Pharmacist license
  • BLS Certification
  • Computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy program literacy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for an entire workday.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and twist while holding up to 25 lbs. frequently.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience of Pharmacy staff, preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with issues of compliance for state and federal regulations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred).
