About The Position

UC Health is hiring a full-time Pharmacist Coordinator for the Outpatient Pharmacy Department at the University of Cincinnati’s Medical Center. Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, and according to standard procedure and scope of practices in the area(s) of responsibility, performs all duties necessary to coordinate the daily operations of all departmental services and programs as well as pharmacists and technicians working therein. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Pharmacy
  • current state of Ohio Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist
  • 1 Year equivalent experience
  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods
  • work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff
  • handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
  • set priorities and solve problems
  • respond quickly to emergency requests
  • communicate effectively (orally and in writing)
  • assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization

  • PharmD and residency trained
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification for the specialty area of practice

Responsibilities

  • Engages in population appropriate communication.
  • Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
  • Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
  • Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms.
  • Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
  • Maintain staffing component within Medication Access Services
  • Assume responsibilities for other administrative and leadership personnel during temporary or planned vacancies within the area(s) of responsibility
  • Assign staffing duties and responsibilities; regulate staffing based on planned and unplanned needs; assist in scheduling of staff department wide.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to area of responsibility.
  • Participate in department's performance improvement process.
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain work/activity data and summary reports.
  • Respond to the hospital's disaster plan.
  • Interview and recommend selected applicants for employment.
  • Assist in personnel orientation, training, and development.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of personnel performance both professional, technical, and clerical staff.
