About The Position

The pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications in our Cancer Center Infusion department. He/she provides expertise on drug therapy initiation and monitoring to all customer groups served by MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, working collaboratively with other health care professionals to devise the most appropriate drug treatment for patients. The role of the pharmacist sometimes extends outside the hospital, sharing their specialized knowledge with other hospitals, clinics, and care settings.

Requirements

• Completion of the requirements for a Pharm.D. required.
• Iowa Pharmacist licensure, either by examination or reciprocity, is required.
• Demonstrated competence in pharmacy for 2-3 years, focusing on the provision of pharmaceutical care is required.

Nice To Haves

• Residency training and/or certification in area related to practice site is preferred.
• Demonstrated competence in previous clinical practice is preferred.
