What You Will Achieve The Pharmaceutical Technician is responsible for ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, assembly, loading/unloading of lyophilization chambers, and operation of equipment. They operate systems per plant SOPs, and complete solution preparation against daily manufacturing schedules. They operate as the SME in all aspects of equipment preparation, compounding/dispensing solution, lyophilization and communicate openly and clearly with line personnel and supervision to accomplish manufacturing goals.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent.
  • 2+ years of production, manufacturing, or operations related experience.
  • Must be competent in basic mathematics and the use of computerized systems.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and have a problem-solving mindset.
  • Responsible, self-directed and able to work independent of supervision.
  • Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently and up to 45 lbs. sporadically, including lifting above shoulders.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to inks, solvents, dust, powders, heat, steam and liquids.
  • Walk and stand for up to 8 to 12 hours depending on assigned area.
  • Will be frequently pushing/pulling carts and tanks.
  • Vision must be correctable to 20/20.
  • Must be able to gown according to the area requirements – aseptic (Grad A/B) or controlled (Grade C/D) and retain certification.
  • Shifts Rotating 12 hours day, Rotating 12 hours nights, 12 hours day, vary Mon-Fri., or 12 hours nights, vary Mon-Fri.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, and maintain area(s) to GMP standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily operation, including but not limited to, production equipment, cleaning and assembling equipment for preparation processes, and lyophilization.
  • Weigh and measures drug components for pharmaceutical compounding/dispensing.
  • Load/unload lyophilization equipment.
  • Update SOPs, batch records, TCPs, BOMs, following cGMPs, and reviews documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with line personnel and supervision to accomplish manufacturing goals.
  • Promote a positive team environment.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
