The US BioPharma Respiratory & Immunology (R&I) Team holds a unique leadership position in respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Our pipeline includes differentiated potential medicines, leveraging novel combinations, biologics, and devices. We also have promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune conditions including psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist on the R&I Primary Care Team, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our scientific capabilities to life; making a positive, meaningful impact on patients every day. This territory generally covers Los Angeles City, Monterrey Park, Alhambra, Glendale and the surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 0–2 years of experience in the medical, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industry

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry; experience in Respiratory therapeutic areas is a plus
  • 2+ years of prior pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep expertise in assigned products and disease states; effectively educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved uses, and safety/efficacy profiles to support appropriate on‑label prescribing.
  • Independently drive sales performance to meet or exceed territory goals, forecasts, and budget expectations.
  • Successfully complete all training requirements, including product certifications.
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, demographics, and managed care considerations within your territory.
  • Partner closely with your District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop and execute a territory strategy and business plan that drives measurable growth.
  • Leverage formulary approvals and other opportunities by effectively using strategic targeting plans, promotional resources, and analytical tools—tailored to local customer needs.
  • Deliver educational programs to healthcare providers in alignment with AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with fellow Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists to coordinate efforts around shared objectives.

Benefits

  • The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $74,700-$140,700.
