Summary of Position The Intern will provide support to the Formulation Development and Analytical R&D teams within Pii. This role is designed to assist with laboratory activities, documentation, and cross-functional projects related to formulation development, technology transfer, and analytical method development. The intern will work under the supervision of senior scientists and contribute to ongoing development programs.

Requirements

  • Major: Bioengineering
  • Class Year: Rising Junior, Rising Senior
  • GPA: Min 3.0
  • Availability: Must be available to work from May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • Basic understanding of pharmaceutical sciences, formulation principles, and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety and GMP concepts.
  • Effective Communication

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pre-formulation studies, excipient compatibility evaluations, and preparation of prototype formulations.
  • Support execution of lab-scale and pilot-scale batches, including weighing, blending, granulation, and compression activities.
  • Document experimental procedures and observations in compliance with internal standards
  • Contribute to preparation and review of technology transfer documentation (batch records, process descriptions, and reports).
  • Participate in data collection and organization for scale-up and manufacturing readiness.
  • Assist in sample preparation and execution of routine analytical tests under supervision.
  • Support method development and validation activities through data entry, trending, and preliminary analysis.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and ensure compliance with GMP and safety requirements.
