About The Position

The Diabetes Sales Team at Novo Nordisk is responsible for leading the US sales efforts for a comprehensive portfolio of cardiometabolic products, including therapies for diabetes and obesity. The role involves implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote these products to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff, while maintaining a focus on compassion and performance to ensure access to therapies for those in need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Relevant Novo Nordisk experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Prior experience using sales data/call reporting software ideal.
  • Self-starter with decision-making ability and minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.

  • Experience in sales or customer service within the healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of competitive products and market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
  • Understand local payer markets and their impact on customer decisions.
  • Identify business opportunities based on territory customer groups and affiliations.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop relationships with specialists and key hospital decision-makers.
  • Tailor account plans based on stakeholder business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to develop and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers, support staff, and clinic administrators.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model with external customers.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans to engage customers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement plans.
  • Control samples and company property in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
  • Manage territory budget and marketing promotional program budget.
  • Understand the disease state and treatment options available.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, training programs, and conventions.
