About The Position

The Diabetes Sales Team at Novo Nordisk is responsible for leading the US sales efforts for a comprehensive portfolio of cardiometabolic products, focusing on diabetes and obesity treatments. The role involves implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote these products to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff, ensuring that the latest therapies reach those in need. The position emphasizes a balance between performance and compassion, aiming to drive business forward while maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Relevant experience with Novo Nordisk preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with sales data and call reporting software is ideal.
  • Self-starter with the ability to evaluate options and make decisions independently.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.

  • Experience in a sales role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of managed care and its impact on prescribing decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies for Novo Nordisk's product portfolio.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
  • Understand local payer markets and their impact on customer decisions.
  • Identify business opportunities based on territory customer groups and affiliations.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers in hospitals and clinics.
  • Tailor account plans based on stakeholder business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to develop and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers and clinic administrators.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model during customer interactions.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans to meet sales goals.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accountability.
  • Manage territory budget and promotional program budget effectively.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of disease states and treatment options.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, training programs, and conventions.
