This person will act as a teaching assistant on the course NSC 5461 Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience. This job would be in addition to the normal employment and academic requirements of the student's graduate program. Employment in this position would not reduce the work required as part of the graduate program.

  • Weekly Review Sessions - Hours per Week 2
  • Lead Journal Discussions - Hours Per Week 2.5
  • Coordinate Meeting of Students and Faculty - Hours per Week .25
  • Help with Canvas Changes - Hours per Week .25
  • Current PhD candidate (must have advanced to candidacy by passing preliminary exams)
  • Good academic standing
  • Must have taken NSC 5461 and received a grade of B+ or better
  • Must be organized, accurate, and detail-oriented
  • Skilled at identifying gaps in understanding and tailoring explanations to bridge them effectively
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint), Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Zoom
  • Experience using Canvas
  • Independent, self-directed worker.
  • Pay Range: $27.95
  • Eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan if maintaining 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester.
