About The Position

The Public Health Adviser will work closely with the Clinic Manager of Clinic Operations in the Bureau of Public Health Clinics. Public Health Advisors play an important role by making sure that patients and their sexual partners are registered into our BPHC-STI Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system so they can receive services.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education, or in health, social or biological sciences.
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease intervention/prevention program.
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and four years of full-time satisfactory experience in health promotion or disease intervention/prevention.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Public Health Adviser, Assignment Level I.
• Additional experience in health promotion or disease intervention/prevention.

Responsibilities

• Cross trained to perform clerical duties to aide in registration including flow monitor services.
• Documenting intake information collected during Intake Service in the Electronic Medical record.
• Assists clinicians in patient medical examinations.
• Specimen processing, label, package, order tests in electronic medical record, EMR, and route to specific (and correct) area.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies under the direction of the clinic manager or physician-in-charge (PIC).
