Without the support of a hands-on Pharmacy Resident, it would be hard for the Pharmacist to get the job done. This team player monitors drug therapy, assists in implementing formulary systems, participates in patient care committees and much more. If you love keeping busy, this is the job for you. If so, we have an active job waiting just for you. WHAT YOU WILL DO Complete an assigned teacher training program in accordance with residency requirements and organizational policy. Complete residency project requirements. Present project and findings at a regional conference. Consult with patients and healthcare providers to provide information and education regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage to ensure safe use. Contribute to and participates in the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others, including staff education activities, new staff orientation, in-service sessions. Maintain records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records, or registries of poisons, narcotics, or controlled drugs; ensures records are maintained accurately in associated databases and in compliance with regulations, policies or procedures. Provide clinical pharmacy services, including but not limited to, pharmacokinetic consults, renal dosing, parenteral nutrition management, anticoagulation management, neonatal/pediatric/geriatric dosing management, route optimization, antimicrobial stewardship, and reviewing medications at transitions of care. Review prescriptions and medication orders, check for appropriateness and provide information needed to properly and safely administer the medication. Complete residency program requirements and required evaluations. Document all residency program activities in electronic residency binder. Achieve program goals as assessed and documented by preceptor evaluations. WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED Knowledge of hospital pharmacy distributors and clinical services. Knowledge of state and federal controlled drug requirements. Excellent communication skills. High attention to detail
