Shift: First Shift (United States of America) The Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy residency program is designed to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency program training to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. The PGY2 pharmacy residency program provides the resident with opportunities to function independently as a practitioner by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings. Residents will be prepared enter a practice position in an acute care setting, eligible for board certification. Residents will provide pharmacy services in assigned patient care areas and ensure all medication related patient and care provider needs are met. Work proactively as a member of a team(s) to ensure the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care. Demonstrate a dedication to continual and constant quality improvement according to professional standards and practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
  • Participating in, or have completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process (i.e., one with candidate or preliminary accreditation status).
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to work on average 60 hours per week and on any shift required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Acceptance as a resident through the ASHP Resident Matching Program (Phase I, Phase II or Post-Match Process) or acceptance through the organization and ASHP Early Commitment process to the organization’s PGY2 program required.
  • Basic knowledge in office computer tools such as Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy without restriction in the state of Nebraska by July 31 of PGY2 year required.
