The PGY1 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership program is a 12-month, full-time residency, accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Its purpose is to develop pharmacists with the skills to practice as acute care pharmacists, adjunct faculty members, or to pursue PGY2 residency training. The program focuses on developing core skills in drug information and literature evaluation, pharmacotherapy evaluation and management, project-based research and team functioning, presentation development and delivery, and direct patient interaction. Residents are required to obtain unrestricted licensure to practice in Tennessee by July 31st of their residency year, with specific consequences for failure to meet this deadline. Until licensed, all job functions will be supervised by a licensed pharmacist. Requirements

  • Unrestricted Pharmacist License in Tennessee by July 31st of residency year.
  • Relevant Work Experience.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
