This position reports to the Work Management Manager and supports field personnel performing construction and maintenance activities for substation and transmission line assets. The Planner is responsible for preparing work packages for both Construction and Maintenance activities, reviewing equipment history to identify special requirements, and identifying additional concurrent maintenance or capital projects for resource efficiency. The role involves documenting and explaining variances in actual versus estimated job task work hours, closely monitoring work progress, and raising issues to schedulers and supervisors to improve efficiencies. The Planner may also ensure accurate completion of NERC related documentation. Collaboration with construction resources and Transmission Project Management is crucial for planning, estimating, and allocating resources to projects within the Transmission Construction Section, requiring first-hand knowledge of construction activities or the ability to acquire it. The position demands strong organizational and collaboration skills for producing excellent project plans and estimates. It supports the development and implementation of construction and maintenance work plans for annual programs ranging from $150M - $300M (capital and O&M) and continually manages changes to these plans to align with funding requirements and prioritize work. The Planner is responsible for ensuring the annual Construction & Maintenance work plan is completed.
