NextEra Energy is currently seeking a Solar Fleet DC Field Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. In this role, the candidate will manage the panel flash testing program using a state-of-the-art mobile tester. This candidate will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes. This position requires supervision only related to high level objective and critical issues Areas of responsibility will mainly focus on panel flash testing and analysis, including but not limited to: Managing a testing program for panel flash testing as a solar panel subject matter expert (SME) Operate a state-of-the-art Mobile tester Work with third party test centers to validate mobile lab is abiding to top tier testing standards Conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) for critical or persistent issues with solar panels Acting as the single point of contact for several panel manufacturers Assisting the operations team with general DC field support and troubleshooting Performing data analytics on test data and providing reports and recommendations 50%-60% travel required to move mobile lab trailers between sites Desired qualifications are: Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering At least 2 years of experience working in solar Experience conducting RCAs and working with vendors Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher Additional Responsibilities Include the Following: Interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This involves exploration of subject areas, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts. Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations Job OverviewEmployees in this role apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Requirements

  • Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Experience: 2+ years
