The Patient Access Representative is responsible for data collection and accurate input into the hospital registration system. This role involves obtaining signatures on all appropriate forms and issuing all required notices to the patient or appropriate family member. The representative verifies insurance, identifies certification requirements, and obtains them when necessary, notifying supervisory personnel if authorization is required but not on file. They calculate estimated amounts due and request payment using hospital-approved scripts, and maintain accurate and thorough documentation of pertinent events regarding account handling, including researching prior accounts. The position also requires demonstrating and encouraging team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences, while upholding and promoting patient safety and quality.
