About The Position

The Pfizer for All (PfA) Medical Lead will serve as the senior Primary Care (PC) Medical Lead for this innovative US platform and be responsible for liaising with the rest of the other therapeutic area medical leadership team to ensure full PfA integration. The PfA lead is the Medical decision maker for developing and executing the Pfizer for All vision and strategy in alignment with the senior cross functional partners, greater PC medical community and other therapeutic areas integrating PfA. He or she is an integral member of the Internal Medicine (IM) Medical Leadership Team, reporting directly to the US Internal Medicine Medical Affairs Lead, as well as a core member of the Pfizer for All Leadership Team, partnering with the US Customer & Channels Platform team. The PfA Lead is the single point of accountability within medical for the health solution platform across different channels (e.g., Consumer and Employers) in US, starting with WH's integration into Pfizer for All. He or she is responsible for liaising with the rest of the other therapeutic area medical leadership teams as needed. He or she will be responsible to make sure systems, processes & activities are fully aligned with PC priorities, strategies, and needs, as well as, in compliance with corporate policies & guidelines. The Pfizer for All Medical Lead provides medical guidance and input to the legal, regulatory, safety and commercial leadership teams in support of the development and maintenance of health solutions programs for the platform. This lead will also need to work closely and ensure alignment with the Vaccines and Antiviral, Oncology and Specialty Care US Medical Leads.

Requirements

  • PhD or PharmD required with a minimum of 7+ years of relevant industry experience required.
  • Experience in specific therapeutic area(s), especially clinical / patient care experience, preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated leadership of Medical Affairs Teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the US health care ecosystem and knowledge of the relevant and applicable US SOPs, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate, develop and manage collaborative relationships with external academic institutions, medical professionals and providers, including Telemedicine Vendors.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs with demonstrated success in managing various medical affairs initiatives.
  • Ability to work successfully with cross-functional colleagues, including commercial, in a matrix team setting; experience influencing without authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to objectively interpret and analyze medical and scientific data.
  • Ability to define and convey complex concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a matrix organization.
  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively partner with US commercial in the development and execution of materials for promotional review related to the Pfizer For All platform and approval for use by sales colleagues, integrated account teams and field-medical colleagues, as needed.
  • Ensure the information is medically and scientifically accurate.
  • Proactively bring patients' & physicians' voice to brand efforts to provide medicines meeting their needs, on cross-functional teams, while considering the needs of customers, including payers.
  • Partner closely with the cross functional and make decisions on behalf of medical when working with cross TA medical affairs colleagues and also ensuring alignment and execution of plans consistent with platform and brand strategies.
  • Understand the Pfizer for All concept/strategy and how it relates to the customers' needs.
  • Lead the medical review and due diligence when considering external partners and vendors (e.g., Telehealth providers).
  • Proactively identify and address potential medical issues and risks and ensure implementation of risk-management strategies in collaboration with team partners.
  • Serve as a reliable and trusted medical partner who can provide accurate, current medical and scientific knowledge (e.g., disease states, product label(s), statistics interpretation for internal and external stakeholders and customers, as needed.
  • Objectively interpret technical and commercial information to deliver value added education to assigned teams.
  • Serve as a translator between technical and commercial functions driving the transfer and appropriate application of commercial and clinical knowledge, ideas and platform needs.
  • Lead working groups and cross TA medical engagement in a professional, inclusive manner encouraging open discussion as related to assigned activities and specific roles, while demonstrating respect for people.
  • Serve as the medical decision maker and proactively collaborate in the development and review of US promotional materials including participation in review committee to ensure medical and scientific information are included in a medically appropriate context.
  • Provide US medical guidance to support label updates and gain regulatory endorsement of medical initiatives.
  • Provide US medical guidance to the analysis plan, guidance for safety updates, and issues pertaining to the US business.
  • Partner with external medical and scientific leaders in collaboration with field based medical colleagues.
  • Coach and provide medicine(s) or/and therapeutic area expertise to other medical and non-medical cross-functional colleagues including training.
  • Proactively identify and address potential medical issues and ensure implementation of risk-management strategies in collaboration with team partners such as legal.
  • Manage projects and associated budgets (track/forecast), as needed.
  • Lead the development and execution of the US medical operational plans in support of the short and long-term objectives of the platform.
  • Proactively bring patients' & physicians' voice to the platform efforts to ensure the medicals efforts address the existing unmet medical and patient needs.
  • Lead the insight generation activities and translate them into actions for the platform.
