What You Will Be Doing The role of Permanent Fund Dividend Technician revolves around helping the public with everything they need to apply for and receive their annual Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend. Technicians follow specific rules and procedures to determine eligibility, managing their own caseload and conducting research while applying the program's governing Statutes and Regulations. This position spends most of the day interacting with Alaska's diverse population, making sure everyone gets the assistance they need. Mission and Culture The Division's mission is to administer the permanent fund dividend program assuring that all eligible Alaskans receive timely dividends, fraud is prosecuted, and all internal and external stakeholders are treated with respect. PFD Technicians directly contribute to the Division's mission by being a team player, communicating respectfully with Alaskans to ensure eligible Alaskans receive timely dividends.   • High school graduation or GED
  • Six months of journey level clerical work.
  • The successful completion of the PFD Tech 1 flexible training plan criteria
  • One year of entry level technical experience completing, processing and auditing documents and providing technical information in support of an agency or program. The required experience includes work such as PFD Technician 1, Retirement and Benefits Technician 1, Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 1 and Tax Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.
  • Two years of advanced clerical experience performing work which requires knowledge, understanding, and the ability to apply appropriate criteria, rules, regulations, and policies and procedures to determine discrepancies, omissions, recognize errors, take appropriate action and explain requirements to others. The required experience includes work such as Administrative Clerk 3 and Human Resource Assistant, with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.
