About The Position

The Pets in Crisis Support Program Coordinator will help oversee the day-to-day operations of the Pets in Crisis Support Program, which supports pet owners experiencing domestic violence, housing instability, or health emergencies. This role ensures compassionate, efficient intake and care coordination for animals enrolled in the program, while working closely with internal teams, community partners, and pet owners. This position requires a consistent in-office presence at either the Marietta or Atlanta location, ensuring accessibility for clients and providing direct support to program operations and departmental leadership. This is not a remote position.

Requirements

• Previous experience in case management, client counseling, or a similar support role preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying and diverse demographics
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality by applying discretion and mature judgement
• Highly organized with attention to detail and time-sensitive coordination
• Familiarity with animal care standards and shelter operations is a plus
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends, as needed
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with favorable driving record; insurable by AHS insurance provider
• Ability and willingness to travel locally
• Fluency in second language, especially Spanish, a plus

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for the Pets in Crisis Support Program
• Coordinate intake, placement, transport, and care of animals placed in temporary foster homes or boarding facilities
• Maintain detailed records of cases, tracking pet status and client needs
• Collaborate with community partners (e.g., domestic violence shelters, housing programs) to facilitate referrals and resources
• Ensure animals in the program receive veterinary care, vaccinations, and enrichment
• Provide relevant resources, support, and program information to clients navigating crisis situations
• In coordination with the Pets in Crisis Support Program Manager, develop and maintain program materials, including intake forms, FAQs, and internal SOPs
• Collect program data and assist with reporting outcomes and impact
• Participate in community events and outreach to promote awareness and expand partnerships
