About The Position

Responsible for assisting with technical economic valuations for oil and gas clients in support of the Community National Bank’s commercial banking activities, ultimately striving to meet the strategic goals as outlined by the Bank’s Board of Directors. Shares responsibility for the Bank’s oil and gas collateral-based loan portfolios. Responsibilities include the overall growth, quality, and profitability of said portfolios.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment toward shared objectives.
  • Able to think analytically, ask questions, and seek information to gain understanding of an asset and improve quality of evaluation and analysis.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering with 2-5 years experience in an E&P company working for at least 2 years as a reservoir engineer.
  • Thorough understanding of reserves reporting and financial analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of operations of conventional and unconventional plays. Some operations experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills (Excel, PHDWin v2, Microsoft Office).
  • Professional conduct and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable utilizing video meetings to schedule and participate in remote learning, supervision, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staying up to date on and complying with all applicable banking laws and regulations as well as CNB policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate oil & gas reserve evaluation analysis in support of the energy lenders.
  • Perform engineering specific workflows such as: forecasting, type curve generation, LOS analysis, and sales differentials and ratio calculations.
  • Prepare economic analyses of client oil and gas assets based on independent engineering and/or in- house engineering reports.
  • Complete due diligence of reserves, operating costs, and other financial/technical information.
  • Provide solid technical interface with clients/colleagues by interacting with borrower's technical staff.
  • Identify risk factors for borrowing base accounts.
  • Ensure that potential risks are accurately conveyed to the appropriate lender.
  • Responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with all Bank and risk tolerances that apply.
  • Understand the rules and regulations that apply to working in a regulated environment.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Work cooperatively with others and share in responsibilities in support of the energy lending team.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
