About The Position

Country Visions Cooperative in Brillion, WI is looking to hire a full-time Pet Groomer! Our pet groomers are responsible for keeping pets clean, comfortable and healthy while also improving their appearance. To be a dog groomer, you need a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, excellent communication abilities, a love for dogs and other pets, the ability to handle animals of different sizes and temperaments, attention to detail, knowledge of different dog breeds and their grooming needs, and ideally, some formal training in dog grooming from a recognized program. Country Visions Cooperative is an agriculture based cooperative dedicated to service and building long-term relationships from generation to generation. We are proud to trace our roots back to 1923.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Animal handling skills: Comfort and confidence in handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments, including calming anxious animals.
  • Grooming techniques: Knowledge of different grooming styles based on breed, including bathing, brushing, clipping, trimming nails, and ear cleaning.
  • Customer service: Effective communication with clients to understand their needs and expectations for their dog's grooming.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to carefully execute grooming tasks with precision and accuracy.
  • Physical ability: Comfortable standing for extended periods, bending, and using repetitive hand motions to groom dogs.
  • Basic animal behavior knowledge: Understanding dog body language, stress signals, and how to respond appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal grooming certification: Completing a recognized dog grooming course from a reputable school

  • Knowledge of basic canine health: Ability to identify potential skin conditions or other health concerns while grooming

Responsibilities

  • Grooming: Brushing, washing, and drying the pet's coat, trimming fur, clipping nails, and cleaning ears
  • Styling: Using knowledge of breed standards to style the pet's coat
  • Health: Checking for parasites, skin conditions, or other health issues
  • Customer service: Providing excellent customer service to the pet's owner, giving advice on products, and selling products
  • Communication: Communicating with the owner or veterinarian about potential hygiene issues
  • Scheduling: Scheduling appointments
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
