The PET/CT Technologist prepares and administers high energy short acting radioisotopes to patients in preparation for diagnostic procedures. The technologist prepares and positions patients for scanning and operates PET scanner, Dose calibrators, radiation detectors, and radiopharmaceutical tracking software. The technologist is responsible for performing radiation safety and quality control procedures, disposal of radioactive materials, and monitoring the work area, and patient rooms to ensure that the levels of radioactive materials are in accordance with NRC regulations. May be required to work in other modalities with appropriate licensure.
