Job Summary: The PET/CT Technologist will operate PET and CT scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images for detecting cancer, heart disease, and brain disorders. They prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, ensure patient safety and comfort, calibrate complex equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety protocols. This position is located at our Orchard Park location.

Requirements

Must be ARRT or NMTBC certified
Must be able to operate the PET/CT scanner
Proficiency in imaging software, PACS systems, and EMR

Responsibilities

Perform PET/CT and diagnostic CT scans, including image reconstruction and processing.
Prepare, calculate, and administer radioactive drugs to patients based on weight and protocols.
Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, insert IV catheters, monitor patients, and ensure comfort during imaging.
Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols (ALARA), maintain equipment, perform quality control, and maintain patient records according to regulatory standards.
Work with radiologists, physicians, and medical physicists to review images for quality and clinical accuracy.
