About The Position

With 12 ministries and access points across Indiana and Illinois, Franciscan Health is one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the Midwest. The position requires working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 AM - 4:30 PM EST. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, gathering information on patients' illnesses and medical history, explaining test procedures, operating equipment, producing images for interpretation, ensuring radiation safety, overseeing quality control, performing patient exams, assessing patients, completing NRC documentation, and educating patients.

Requirements

• Required Certificate in Radiology.
• Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Required within 1 1/2 years of hire Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Required Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification Board (NMTCB) or Radiography (ARRT-R) or Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
• Required Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-N).
• Required X-Ray Operators (OPCERT) - State Licensing Board.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history.
• Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients.
• Operate equipment to produce high-quality results.
• Produce computer-generated or film images for physician interpretation.
• Follow radiation safety procedures.
• Oversee quality control of PET and CT utilizing phantoms.
• Perform patient exams, glucose screening, and administer isotope dosage.
• Assess patient and patient history.
• Complete NRC documentation.
• Educate patients.
