About The Position

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kennel Attendant to join our team and help us provide exceptional care for the animals we serve. As a Kennel Attendant at Springfield Animal Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all animals in our care are well-fed, exercised, clean, and comfortable. You will work closely with our veterinary team to maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for pets boarding with us.

Requirements

• Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Passion for animals and a strong desire to provide high-quality care.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water animals as directed by the veterinarian or client instructions.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure the health and safety of animals.
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and promptly report to veterinary staff.
• Walk and exercise dogs regularly, providing companionship and mental stimulation.
• Provide basic grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming as needed.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of kennel supplies (food, bedding, cleaning products).
• Ensure that animals are housed appropriately and provide comfort to reduce stress during their stay.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting with pet owners and providing updates on their pets.
