Position Summary: Certified and licensed pesticide applicator who maintains programs to control, monitor and/or eliminate pests that could adversely affect stored items. To manage and monitor all pest control issues for Distribution Centers to maintain compliance with all Pest Control laws at Federal and State levels.

Requirements

  • State pesticide applicator certification is required.
  • A valid Drivers License is required.
  • Ability to be very analytical in approaching collected information as pertaining to pre and post pest problems.
  • Aptitude to communicate effectively both orally and written.

Responsibilities

  • Clock in and out on Time and Attendance system and sign in and out on a Labor Management assignment daily.
  • Responsible for monitoring pest control devises (interior and exterior) at the Grocery and Perishable operations and change out baits stations.
  • Keep all Pest Control records current and maintained in a manner to conform to company, state, and federal policies.
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and labels.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for all stored items.
  • Special Projects – escort regulatory and audit inspectors, maintain associate hygienic practices, clean and safe storage/receiving practices and any other application that is listed or implied under the Federal and State rules and regulations as listed in the GMP’s (Congressional Good Manufacturing Practices): Organization & Planning of Sanitation Grounds and Outside Premises Design and Maintenance of Plant Structure Provisions for Sanitary Facilities and Control Overall Housekeeping Sanitary Facilities Sanitation and Storage of Non perishable food Pest Control Program Associate Practices/ Food safety
  • Process incoming information (mentally) from numerous sources.
  • Analyze all actual and potential pest problems.
  • Correct adverse conditions thru pre-active/proactive procedures.
  • Manage time and pest control devices in a timely manner.
  • Collect information for further/deeper analysis of programs.
  • Create current record books and comprehensive information.
  • Exchange out old/damaged pest control devices.
  • Respond to all e-mails and act upon all that are applicable to pest problems.
  • Check all pest control and pest monitor devices.
  • Field questions from DC management and store managers/personnel.
  • Post and record any and all applications of pesticides.
  • Keep records current.
  • Run the various pest control programs (rodent/vermin/insect/weed) effectively.
  • Order applicable pest control devices, rodenticides, insecticides and herbicides.
  • Maintain current pesticide certifications/licenses by attending applicable (pest/pesticide) seminars.
  • Review records for pest patterns/continuing problems.
  • Provide programs (existing and new) that will/can be applied in such a manner that will limit/eliminate pest problems.
  • Perform shift work with an adequate amount of flexibility to work overtime and/or on call-duty as needed.
