About The Position

As the Pest Manager, you will use principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which includes a planned program, incorporating continuous monitoring, response thresholds, education, record-keeping, and communication to prevent vectors and disease vectors from causing unacceptable damage to operations, people, property, material, or the environment. Will have a Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) plan which will comprise a hazard survey of the airfield and the surrounding areas, avian species, counts, seasonal expectations and variations, food supply, ground cover and nesting sites, bird-hanger interfaces, natural predators, BASH mitigation strategies and control measures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of pest control management.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Jordan
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Knowledge of the most specific pesticide and the least hazardous material, most precise application technique, and minimum quantity of pesticide necessary to achieve control.
  • Knowledge of off-target impact from drift, runoff, groundwater contamination and/or spills.
  • Knowledge of disposal of pesticide waste.
  • Must possess strong management skills with an attention to detail and follow up.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must have excellent verbal and writing skills; be skilled and proficient with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of food storage areas, common areas and dining facilities on a regular basis.
  • Inspection of site.
  • Ensure actions are taken to keep areas vector free.
  • Vector control (e.g. dogs/cat, snakes, rodents, birds).
  • Vector and nuisance biting arthropod control of laval and adult stages.
  • Structural vector control
  • Filth insect control.
  • Weed control.
  • Validation of effectiveness of control measures.
  • Reduce the need for pesticides.
  • Will remove wild and feral animals using cage-type live traps or other techniques that do not harm the captured animals.
  • Euthanized captured animals suspected of having rabies within 12 hours.
  • Responsible for removing all dead or dying rodents or other animals for the installation and dispose of them in accordance with local procedures.
  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet or electronic timekeeping system WorkTech.
