Tessera is seeking a hard working and reliable Pest and Weed Control Technician with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Drive light and/or medium trucks to deliver material. Loading and unloading of packages with the use of a forklift. Sort, count, and weigh material. Store, inspect, and issue material. Putting stock away in bins. Counting stock levels. Pulling and processing order and shipments. Visual inspection of products. Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Keeping compliance with FISC standard procedures. Sprays chemical solutions or toxic gasses to control pests and weeds. Sets Mechanical traps to kill pests. Fumigates rooms and buildings using toxic gases, chemical solutions, or dusting powder to kill pests. Places poisonous paste or bait where pests are present. May clean areas that harbor pests using rakes, brooms, shovels, and mops. Responsible for removal of terrestrial and avian animal carcasses from paved areas, grounds, structures, and facilities. Assist the Government with its Integrated Pest Management Program by providing pest surveys and documentation of findings. Maintain ground structures and roads, blocks and logs so they are free of damage, vegetation encroachment, and are structurally sound. All pesticides shall be procured, processed, handled, and applied in strict accordance with the manufacturer's label. Working knowledge of pesticide application, federal and state weed control laws, identification of noxious weeds, and application formulas and distribution, required. Applies by using spraying equipment using the correct formulas chemicals for the control of noxious weeds throughout Naval Base Kitsap. Updates mapping program of pesticides and noxious weeds designed for spraying on a systematic basis. Documents applications of pesticides and insecticides. Ensures spraying and other equipment used by Pest and Weed Control Technician is inventoried and in proper operational condition. Maintains Safety Data Sheets on all insecticides and pesticides for Weed Control. Ensures proper storage of chemicals and inspects storage areas at least monthly. Uses safety equipment and clothing when around chemicals. Operates various types of machinery. Maintains operation log for spraying (date, time, location, and weather conditions).
