Requirements

  • Degreed Engineer with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Engineering and/or Manufacturing fields. Preferred experience with food service equipment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD design tools and modeling
  • Knowledge of FEA and simulation
  • Knowledge of prototyping tools
  • Strong technical writing skills along with engineering documentation experience
  • Familiar with PDM or other CAD data management tools. Enter and manage engineering data, CAD, parts, and bills of materials.
  • Skilled in all facets of engineering design and project management and have a broad range of experience in industry standard manufacturing process: thermoforming, injection molding, sheet metal forming, casting, ect.
  • Must have strong conceptual, analytical, technical, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion in a process-controlled environment.
  • Data interpretation / analytical skills (e.g. ability to translate data and information into meaningful insights/simple solution as well as interpreting consumer insights)
  • Functional excellence in equipment design and operations
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills with an ability to negotiate with vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Ideal candidate must be a motivated, self-starter with good people and communications skills. Results and action oriented.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with demonstrated success in influencing at all levels inside as well as outside the company.
  • Able to manage and/or mentor other engineers and non-engineering professionals.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple technical initiatives at multiple locations and actively interact with cross functional teams/programs/platforms.
  • Able to provide analysis of options and make fact based and engineering data supported recommendations.
  • Ability to work on teams and exhibit business leadership skills.
  • Able to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Able to assemble and present effective updates to senior leadership.
  • Position requires 30 to 40% travel, up to 80% during key project milestones.
  • Employees expected to work onsite at least three days a week at an approved PepsiCo / PES facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with food service equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing subject experience and subject matter expertise is a competitive plus.
  • Compliance engineering and subject matter expertise is a competitive plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering optimizations, develop processes, and ensure process compliance to provide technical solutions for productivity, innovation, capacity, maintenance projects, cost management imperatives, and strategic initiatives. Establish and manage the PES strategy for CAD implementation and execution.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and ensuring sound Engineering principles are applied across the PES supply chain organization resulting in improved operations with a high degree of customer focus.
  • Effectively communicate technical benefits/challenges and innovative opportunities based on a thorough understanding of the business needs and requirements.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, focusing on standardization, quality control, software management, and team development to ensure efficient, accurate, and consistent design deliverables for projects.
  • Enforce CAD standards, managing software/hardware, training staff, troubleshooting complex designs, coordinating workflows with other departments, and reporting.
  • Ensure all personnel apply solid technical fundamentals by providing feedback and coaching resulting in optimum operating conditions and personal development.
  • Support technical development in all future growth areas for the PES organization supporting new product development, systems improvement, and other operational areas.
  • Develop and manage specification system and processes for Grayhawk Manufacturing to ensure team efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide leadership in driving equipment optimization and serving as a technical liaison to the other PES functions, R&D and procurement.
  • Identify new equipment and part vendors/suppliers for MEM equipment and ensure compliance to META process.
  • Perform basic economic evaluations on new processes and estimate the potential business value.
  • Support corporate standards and leverage industry best practices. Brings forward new company standards for consideration. Assists in the development and update of disciplined standards and procedures.
  • Provides input for strategic decisions in areas of expertise and proactively identifies areas of risk and develops solutions to ensure results.
  • Participates in recruiting of key technical staff.

Benefits

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $110,700 - $185,250.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
