About The Position

The Personnel Security Specialist (Risk Management) position within the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) focuses on safeguarding the integrity and trustworthiness of the federal and contractor workforce. The role involves analyzing potential threat indicators, conducting risk assessments, and recommending risk mitigation strategies to ensure a trusted federal workforce. The incumbent will collaborate with various stakeholders, including law enforcement and intelligence agencies, to facilitate the dissemination of personnel security and threat information.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Experience in searching personnel security, intelligence, counterintelligence, law enforcement, and/or insider threat databases.
  • Knowledge of federal personnel vetting, counterintelligence, insider threat, personnel security, law enforcement, and intelligence fields.
  • Experience in developing new analytical methods and procedures for personnel vetting.
  • Ability to conduct assessments on threats, hazards, and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures.

  • Experience with insider threat concerns and security vulnerability assessments.
  • Familiarity with national security adjudicative guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Access classified systems/material regularly and work in the office majority of the pay period.
  • Review and analyze potential threat indicators and make risk assessments in support of personnel security decisions.
  • Recommend personnel risk mitigation strategies based on analysis.
  • Advance collaboration and information sharing between AVS federal personnel security and insider threat officials, DoD Military Services, Law Enforcement agencies, and the U.S. Intelligence Community.
  • Conduct complex research, analysis, and comprehensive reviews using unclassified/open-source and secure/classified systems.
  • Independently author written risk assessments and provide analytical briefings to personnel security personnel and other agencies.
  • Facilitate the distribution of risk-based assessments to various DoD and Federal risk owners and stakeholders.
  • Assist in determining the proper course of action to mitigate identified risks and track all actions through final resolution.
