The Personnel Security Specialist at Amazon Web Services (AWS) plays a crucial role in managing security clearance activities for AWS employees involved in classified government programs. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, innovative thinking, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will work closely with government clients to enhance personnel security programs and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

  • Process and review personnel security clearances and maintain all security documentation, files, and clearance and suitability rosters in accordance with government requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of personnel security programs.
  • Own development and enhancement of personnel security programs, ensuring they are developed and operated in accordance with internal and customer security policies and practices.
  • Track and report security metrics and activities.
  • Monitor processes and drive improvements in efficiency and quality of personnel security programs.
  • Interface regularly with AWS stakeholders and government customers to support clearance activities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Intelligence, Security Management, Business Administration, or analytical field - or 5+ years of Security Specialist security experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing collateral, SCI and/or special access security programs.
  • 5+ years of experience interpreting and enforcing security requirements of the NISPOM, ICD, ICPG, Executive Orders, and other Agency specific regulations as it pertains to personnel security.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Experience supporting multiple government agencies.
  • Demonstrated track record of growth and increasing responsibility including senior leadership positions that require maturity, judgment, negotiation, analytics, and influence skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and can learn quickly.
  • Desire to step outside the box and your comfort zone to take ownership of projects and domains not in your range of expertise.
