About The Position

The Personnel Assignment Clerk position is under the General Supervision of Transportation Manager-RRD. The Personnel Assignment Office directs and coordinates activities of commuter rail crews in the assignment of work, determines the need for and makes assignments for service requirements, and assigns/contacts employees as required. The Personnel Assignment Clerk performs these functions within this office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have two (2) or more years experience in a Call Center or Dispatcher environment.
  • Must be familiar with rules, regulations and practices covering crew-employees.
  • Must know service requirements and crew-employee job qualifications.
  • Must know payroll procedures.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • General knowledge of filing and other clerical duties required; including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have acceptable performance, attendance and safety records.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates activities of commuter rail crews in the assignment of work.
  • Determines need for and makes assignments for service requirements.
  • Assigns and contracts employees as required.
  • Directs employees in all matters pertaining to work assignments.
  • Completes and submits reports of employee performance as required.
  • Performs regular and miscellaneous payroll procedures; verifies payroll adjustment requests; and, completes forms for payroll.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Complies with all Authority and Departmental safety and security policies and procedures, as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities.
  • Reports any safety concerns, compromises, or hazards in the immediate working environment to Supervision and takes initiative to alleviate potential and existing hazards affecting self and other employees.
  • Is responsible for the individual's own safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
