About The Position

The Personal Trainer at the Leisure Sports Wellness Department is responsible for helping members and guests achieve their personal health and fitness goals in a professional, service-oriented, and enjoyable manner. This role involves providing knowledgeable fitness instruction, ensuring safety on the fitness floor, and designing customized exercise programs based on individual needs and medical conditions. The Personal Trainer will monitor client progress, provide motivation and education, and promote personal training services and other fitness programs. Staying updated on current fitness trends and pursuing additional certifications is also essential.

Requirements

  • Personal Training Certification.
  • Knowledge/Training in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sports Medicine, Health & Nutrition, Fitness Testing and Assessments.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Professional, responsible, and reliable demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide aggressive hospitality on the fitness floor through coverage, supervision, accessibility, and visibility.
  • Promote personal training services by assisting and interacting with members on the fitness floor.
  • Participate in personal training marketing opportunities such as Body Fat Testing and Health Fair Booths.
  • Develop rapport with new clients and gather necessary information for personalized exercise programs.
  • Adhere to ACSM guidelines regarding exercise prescription.
  • Instruct clients in the proper usage of all fitness equipment and ensure good form and technique.
  • Set up training appointments with clients and confirm 24 hours in advance.
  • Conduct training sessions within the flow of the fitness center and maintain an active client base.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to gauge exertion levels and discuss progress.
  • Maintain records on each client, including session contents and program adjustments.
  • Stay knowledgeable in the field and seek continuing education opportunities.
  • Inform the Wellness Director of any equipment malfunctions or safety issues.
  • Follow all club and fitness department policies and guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records of training sessions provided for payroll submission.
