Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Movement Science (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training) or related field.
  • Certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), Personal Trainer (CPT) through accredited institution (NSCA, NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA) or Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working directly with clients or as a technician/assistant in an orthopedic therapy environment.
  • CPR certification.

  • Experience working with individuals of all ages, abilities, and can navigate clients with orthopedic limitations or considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or semi-private personal training sessions of 30 minutes or longer.
  • Develop and grow clientele base through internal and external marketing efforts.
  • Own the process of schedule management, client communication, and client billing.
  • Document and log sessions with clients including exercises prescribed and client status.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Spooner products and services outside the scope of the personal training for optimal delivery and presentation of information to both internal and external sources for credibility and marketing potential.
  • Consistently attain knowledge of new exercises, techniques, research, and customization of exercise routines for optimal patient/client outcomes and staff education and implements testing for measurement of results as applicable.
  • Implement appropriate safeguards and risk management strategies during training sessions, maintaining secure and safe treatment areas and a working environment free of hazardous conditions in accordance to Spooner’s Safety and Illness and Injury Prevention Program.
  • Orientate new gym members (in applicable locations) and assist members with questions.
  • Collaborate with other Spooner departments (marketing, accounting, compliance, leadership) on regular basis.
  • Maintain open communications with Clinic Director and Coordinator of Performance and Personal Training, supporting the decision-making process, the clinic’s strategic planning goals, and Spooner values.
  • Development of relationships with both internal and external customers to a higher level of customer service is essential to the success of this role.
  • Meet regularly with the Clinic Director and Coordinator of Performance and Personal Training, as appropriate, reporting progress and accountability for meeting or exceeding goal expectations.
  • Commit to compliance with all state and federal labor and employment laws, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA, as required.
