Personal Trainer - Westside Family YMCA
About The Position
Be part of the Grand Opening of Albuquerque's newest family gym on the Westside! Build your clientele to match your needs and availability. Our new facility will be opening in March 2026 with selectorized equipment, Matrix, free weights, functional training areas and Sports conditioning. We are seeking Personal Trainers at all levels with versatile areas of expertise. YMCA Personal Trainers are dynamic and enthusiastic fitness professionals that work with members by prescribing safe, quality exercise and strength training activities with an emphasis on client development and retention for all ages and abilities in both individual and small group settings.
Requirements
- Current personal training certification that is both nationally accredited and recognized. (NASM, NSCA, ACSM, ACE) or the YMCA’s Strength and Conditioning Certification.
- Have and maintain a working knowledge of human anatomy and the concepts of functional exercise and the fundamental principles of exercise science.
- Ability to design and execute individual and small group exercise programs for all ages.
- A desire to help and motivate YMCA members to reach their goals of spirit, mind and body.
- The desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of participants utilizing strength and conditioning areas of the YMCA.
- Interact with members in the facility to model a personal and inviting atmosphere.
- Create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for the YMCA members.
- Create and or take part in innovative programs/classes for all ages.
- Provide preventative maintenance cleaning and upkeep of the strength and conditioning areas.
- Conduct new member orientations.
- Assist with YMCA events.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
