The Personal Trainer instructs clients in individualized fitness programs. Designs programs based on the medical history, goals, and current fitness level of the client. Works under the supervision of the Fitness Program Coordinator to design safe and effective personal training programs for individual clients, adapting the strength training program to each patron’s specific needs and abilities. Instructs patrons in the strength training principles, training procedures, and exercise techniques in a fun, safe, and effective manner that meet University Recreation guidelines, and provides an encouraging and motivating environment while helping participants to achieve their fitness goals. May also be assigned to train partner/multiple-client sessions or group personal training instruction. Completes required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace; and safer work environment.
