The Beverly YMCA is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Personal Trainer to deliver high-quality, results-driven training in our state-of-the-art fitness facility. In this role, you will partner with members to create personalized fitness plans, coach proper technique, and provide the motivation and accountability needed to support long-term success.

Requirements

  • Certified Personal Trainer (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) with prior hands-on experience in personal and/or group training.
  • Strong understanding of exercise science, strength training, and safe progression techniques.
  • Proven ability to assess client needs and create customized, results-oriented fitness programs.
  • A passion for coaching, accountability, and helping individuals of all backgrounds succeed.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, and NSPA
  • Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading classes and activities, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates
  • Must be able to work outside when weather permits
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Ability to listen, hear, and discern members & program participants' wants, needs, and interests
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergencies
  • Ability to demonstrate equipment used for exercise training

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in physical education or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Engage and support members on the fitness floor through exercise demonstrations, equipment guidance, and individualized recommendations.
  • Deliver one-on-one and small-group training sessions tailored to members’ goals, abilities, and experience levels.
  • Conduct complimentary fitness consultations and assessments to help members get started and stay motivated.
  • Monitor workouts, offering modifications and support to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment and ensure equipment is used properly.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the Y by greeting members, answering questions, and fostering an inclusive, supportive atmosphere.
