About The Position

Position Summary: Our personal training staff are responsible for providing safe and effective programs for our members that want personalized attention for improved body and fitness health. Trainers are responsible for increasing our membership and generating personal training sales revenue for the family center by giving our members detailed fitness and training instructions in a clear and positive manner. Requirements

• In-house certification or equivalent appropriate education and experience.
• Current CPR certification
• Nationally Accredited Personal Trainer Certification. (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NPTI or AFFA.)
• Strict compliance to assessment protocol and client progression.
• Ability to provide helpful and customized fitness information for health seekers.
• Strong interpersonal, listen first and participant engagement skills necessary.
• Serve as an ambassador to the Family YMCA in the community - always presenting in a positive, highly professional manner.
• Dedication to timeliness and commitment to all appointments and events.
• Ability to respond and take lead in emergency situations with proper procedure.
• Within 90 days of employment or first available training.
• Must pass background check.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to conduct classes and activities.
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Must be reliable, prompt and practice excellent attendance.
• Adhere to check in and check out policies.
• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational sessions, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Recruit and maintain clientele on a continual basis.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Keeps accurate attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
