The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated personal trainer to join our mission-driven team. This role involves not only personal training but also fostering relationships with clients to help them achieve their fitness goals while adhering to our mission of spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration.

  • Provide personal training to members who purchase additional services.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all clients and members.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and build relationships with members.
  • Provide orientation to new members and perform fitness assessments.
  • Follow up with personal training customers as needed.
  • Teach a variety of fitness classes based on experience and specialties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Implement safety measures for personal training services.
  • Assist members during workouts with proper equipment use and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure the fitness area is presentable and assist with cleaning and maintenance.
  • Report equipment and gym area issues to the Health and Wellness Manager.
  • Enforce all fitness area rules consistently.
  • Adhere to RJKCCC operations and policies.
  • Provide supervision in the absence of the Health and Wellness Manager.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Verify membership and day pass users and provide information about available programs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency; a degree in fitness or related areas is preferred.
  • Current certification in personal training (e.g., Exper-rating, YMCA).
  • Ability to design safe and effective fitness programs for various client goals.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Prior personal training experience is required.
  • Must comply with all applicable business, employment, and copyright laws.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
  • Maintain a drug and alcohol-free work environment.
  • Effective communication skills with clientele and staff.
  • Must have First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is desired.
