About The Position

Breuckelen Athletic is a high-end training and recovery facility based in Gowanus/Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to provide the best training experience for members across their needs and build meaningful relationships with our members. We're not led by social likes, before or after pictures, or for trendy fixes. We focus on life and mental well-being through fitness, and promote the love the of process. We’re looking for people who fundamentally believe in health and wellness for the long-term, and that success for every client is unique to them and not simply a number change. Holistic improvements, self perception and behavior changes are just as important in people getting what they need out of a coach and gym. We are looking for 1-2 full-time coaches who are professional, excellent team players and dedicated to growing with us and in turn we’ll be dedicated to you and your development as a team member. This personal will be vital to the growth of Breuckelen Athletic and we're looking for someone that can take ownership, problem solve and provide best in class member service. Coaches at BA are full-time employees that can focus on providing a great training experience for our members with the full support of Breuckelen Athletic behind them. We’re looking for a Coach to bring Breuckelen Athletic’s mission, vision, and values to life with our members. Our coaches are experts: we expect a high technical skillset as a coach and equally to help our members build strong relationships with themselves and the BA community. The ideal candidate is highly experienced across a range of fitness needs and profiles (ages, abilities, and life experiences), committed to thoughtful and nuanced communication, and motivated to meet our current and prospective members where they are starting from. As well as highly organized and has the desire to own their work.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years coaching in any capacity, including gyms, studios, strength & conditioning, yoga, mobility, kettlebells, weightlifting, etc.
• Will consider applicants with less coaching experience based on education and other professional experience, on a case by case basis.
• Training Certification Required (several accepted).
• CPR Certification Required
• Coaches have set 35-40hr schedules that include some combination mornings, evenings or weekends. The goal is for you to have a regular sustainable schedule

Nice To Haves

• Experience with with semi-private, athletics and group training is a nice to have.
• Degrees in exercise science, nutrition/dietetics (RD), athletic training, etc is a nice to have but not required. Other education and backgrounds are welcome to apply.
• Have experience in other professional fields, operations and/or hospital is a nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Coach a combination of Private and Semi-private sessions, building a training framework for each member that is sustainable, balanced, and bespoke to their individual needs.
• Learn Breuckelen Athletic’s mission, vision, and values, and implement our unique philosophy in your coaching practice.
• Identify opportunities and engage prospective Members during intro sessions: complete assessments and convert leads to Membership through a compelling and best-in-class experience.
• Deepen your relationship with existing members by encouraging them to grow with Breuckelen Athletic.
• Book sessions and respond to member needs, questions, and feedback.
• Assist in the maintaining a clean and organized space and good vibes!
