About The Position

Under general supervision and with independent judgment reviews insurance applications to evaluate and classify each risk to determine acceptability, and monitors existing business in order to verify its continued acceptability by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Nice To Haves

• Related functional training such as Certificate of General Insurance (INS), or other insurance education certificates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates insurance applications, renewals and endorsements to, within defined authority, approve, modify or decline risks.
• Determines and authorizes reinsurance, if necessary.
• Communicates with agents and internal staff to collect necessary information to perform risk assessment.
• Builds and maintains positive working relationships with agents and internals staff; assists and responds to inquiries by telephone, correspondence, and agency visits.
• Maintains profitable business in territory through proper selection, pricing, and monitoring of business.
• May serve as a contributing member of project teams, or a leader of project teams, coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities.
• May provide leadership to junior staff through guidance and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
