About The Position

The Cross Family of Agencies is seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager. This role is primarily responsible for servicing new and renewal policies for personal customers of Cross Insurance, while building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, underwriters, and other professionals. Cross Insurance has grown rapidly over the past 65 years, from starting at the kitchen table of Woodrow Cross to becoming one of the largest insurance providers in New England. The company has maintained its core values of integrity, hard work, and dedication, and remains privately held. Its offices foster a culture of community by supporting various local causes, including fundraising for local food banks and volunteering at after-school programs, with initiatives varying by branch to best serve individual communities.

Requirements

  • Maintain a Property & Casualty license along with keeping up with Continuing Education
  • Strong written, oral and phone communication skills
  • Organize, set and maintain priorities
  • Working knowledge/experience with an agency management system, Microsoft Word, Outlook and agency rating system
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and understanding of social media platforms
  • Proven experience selling
  • Strong customer service skills and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a Property & Casualty license along with keeping up with Continuing Education
  • Understanding and following the Cross Basic Procedure Manual
  • Understanding and following the Personal Lines Workflow Manual
  • Making sure the correct Action Codes are being used
  • Meet sales goal
  • Suspense’s need to be followed up and taken care of on a daily basis
  • Service and sell personal insurance products to prospective and existing clients
  • Gather underwriting, pricing, and support data for preparation of quotes/proposals
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with company sales representatives, service center, and underwriting and claim representatives
  • Provide quality customer service to existing accounts
  • Proactively retain accounts, following up on Broker of record letters
  • Maintain familiarity with trends in the industry and new insurance products
  • Understand and analyze insurance coverage, forms and policies
  • Take payment and note activity
  • Upload Payments various company websites
  • Perform other duties as assigned
