Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years in personal injury law required, preferably focusing on investigative work and catastrophic injury (TBI, spinal cord, wrongful death)
• J.D. or California Private Investigator (PI) license preferred
• Insurance adjuster background preferred

Responsibilities

• Facilitating investigative work to identify multiple avenues for recovery and be creative with determining various theories of liability
• Work with experts in building support for creative theories of liability
• Identify, hire, and brief appropriate technical experts; provide the necessary data and evidence for their specialized case analysis
• Work closely with attorneys to identify “knowledge gaps” in a case
• Ensure all evidence is obtained and analyzed prior to spoliation
• Conduct comprehensive field investigations, including incident site visits, evidence collection, photography, and securing surveillance footage
• Manage and review all collected evidence to ensure it aligns with the overarching case strategy
• Identify and interview witnesses to gather critical testimony regarding the incident
• Supervise outside investigators for recorded statements or highly specialized investigative tasks.
• Act as a point of contact for insurance adjusters to facilitate communication and information exchange
