What the Personal Health Assistant does: Assist students with personal care needs including toileting, feeding, dressing, and hygiene while promoting dignity and independence. Support students with mobility needs, including safe lifting, transfers, positioning, and use of wheelchairs or assistive technology. Provide encouragement and behavioral support to help students engage in learning and daily school activities. Monitor student safety during transitions, physical activities, and throughout the school day. Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment; assist teachers with supervision in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and on school grounds. Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure consistent care and support for students with disabilities. Perform other duties as assigned to support students’ health, safety, and learning. What the Personal Health Assistant brings to the team: High school diploma or equivalent required Experience supporting students with disabilities in a school, clinical, or caregiving setting preferred Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to provide appropriate care with dignity, independence, and privacy in mind Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 70 lbs. (with assistance or Hoyer lift) Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the school day

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to provide appropriate care with dignity, independence, and privacy in mind
