About The Position

Hinds' Feet Farm, Inc. is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide 1:1 support for a male brain injury survivor. This DSP will assist with community-based support that may include self-care tasks. The goal of this position will be to provide 1:1 supervision and support that will foster his independence. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years old
  • Valid driver's license, insured personal vehicle, clean driving record, and 5 + years of driving experience, and an acceptable level of automobile liability insurance
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry
  • CPR and First Aid certification (can be provided)
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of basic physical/psychological needs and health/safety procedures
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training regarding brain injuries and best practices
  • Ability to follow all NC DHHS regulations, confidentiality rules, and organizational policies
  • Ability to complete assigned training within 30 days
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to stay positive and professional throughout the workday
  • Ability to use computers and office equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Brain Injury Specialist
  • Experience working with individuals with TBI
  • Developmental disabilities and/or mental health experience
