About The Position

What You Should Know About the Personal Care Specialist Role: This is a Full-Time position at our MIddletown Hospice House Inpatient facility This position will also have Unit Clerk duties as well Schedule will include three 12 hour shifts, 7pm-7:30am with an every other weekend/holiday rotation We provide superior care and superior services to patients at their end of life journey. Only those who have a heart for hospice will succeed The Personal Care Specialist’s Essential Duties Are: Our aides are titled "Personal Care Specialist" because they are valued for their expertise in taking care of the patient's personal needs with dignity, compassion and empathy. You could become a Personal Care Specialist that provides quality nursing assistance to patients, assists the family with the care of the patient and works with a team that relies on your input from the close relationship you develop with the patient. The Unit Coordinator position would be responsible for Hospice House communications between staff and patients, and facilitation of the admission and transfer process for patients entering and leaving the Hospice House and maintaining medical records

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Nursing Assistant with the State of Ohio preferred
  • one year of experience preferred
  • Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine (CHPNA) preferred within two years of employment
  • Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care.
  • Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
  • Valid Driver's license with Safe Driving Record.
  • State minimum automobile insurance coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant with the State of Ohio
  • one year of experience
  • Certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine (CHPNA) within two years of employment
