About The Position

THE OAKS AT PLEASANT GAP PART TIME 1st, 2nd, & 3rd OCCASIONAL SHIFTS AVAILABLE COMPETITIVE RATES FREE MED PASS TRAINING The Oaks at Pleasant Gap, a personal care and independent living community, is actively seeking candidates for Personal Care Companion/Med Techs. This is a non-supervisory position that provides our residents with quality routine daily personal care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• One year of personal care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all prescribed med passes during shift according to orders.
• Assist residents with bath functions as directed.
• May require verbal cues and minimal assist with dressing tasks during and after baths.
• Assist residents with dressing properly and comfortably and undressing as necessary, keeping residents dry.
• Assist with putting on shoes and socks.
• Assist residents with personal care needs including hair care functions, nail care, and oral care.
• Assist with room care including laundry collection and light housekeeping.
• Transport or accompany residents to and from such activities.
• Remind personal care residents of appointments as needed, mealtime, activities and when necessary transport or accompany residents to and from such activities.
• Check residents routinely to assure that their personal care needs are being met.
• Answer call bells and handle emergencies that come up during assigned shift.
• Participate in and receive the report upon reporting for duty.
• Reports all accidents/incidents and changes in a resident’s condition observed on shift.
