Now Hiring: Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Location: Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care Community Position Type: Full-Time Are you compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a difference in the lives of others? We are seeking a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to support our residents and clinical team by assisting with non-hands-on resident care, activities, and unit support services in a professional, respectful, and resident-centered environment. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age No formal education required Ability to stand or walk throughout scheduled shifts Ability to lift, push, or pull 60–70 lbs Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions Basic knowledge of computer systems and office equipment Must meet all local health regulations , including post-employment physical exam if required Must successfully pass drug screening, criminal background check, and reference inquiry Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work cooperatively with residents, families, co-workers, vendors, and leadership Reliable attendance, flexibility with scheduling, and willingness to meet resident needs Willingness to attend in-service and education programs for regulatory compliance Commitment to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of resident information Essential Job Functions Work within the scope of permissible PCA duties Follow assignments from the charge nurse Answer phones professionally and relay messages accurately Accompany residents to activities and outside appointments Assist with call lights, meal service setup, hydration, and transport Support dining services (tray delivery and setup only – no feeding) Transport residents using wheelchairs as directed Assist with activity programs Maintain unit organization including linen carts, supplies, and meal carts Support a safe, clean environment and report concerns promptly Assist with room tidiness , bed linens, nightstands, and resident belongings Properly label and organize residents’ personal items Adhere to infection control, PPE, safety, and emergency procedures Promote excellent customer service and resident rights Complete required documentation per policy Perform other duties as assigned within PCA scope of practice Physical & Sensory Requirements Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and fine motor coordination Ability to hear and respond to overhead pages Ability to communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff Ability to apply training and education effectively Must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance Demonstrate a positive, respectful, and compassionate approach at all times Why Join Our Team?
